I am looking for an English-English dictionary for my Psion 3c.
I looked at the Handango and found that TomeRaider is compatible with Series 3.

http://www.handango.com/psion/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=243&device=Symbian+Series+3&jid=5FC7F2C5691C8DCBEFE43735CDA4B78X&platformId=4&productType=2&topSectionId=1010&productId=24523&sectionId=1010&catalog=20

I downloaded demo version but the zip file contains only a sis file.
How can I install the program on to my 3c?

If there is other English-English dictionary for Series 3, please let me know.

Thanks,

Hi Nadine,

I'm pretty sure that TomeRaider won't work on any 16bit Psion. I've certainly not come across such a version.

As regards dictionaries, I understand the desire for a Psion-based one. I suggest you find one in text format and use something like eTxtRead to view it.

If you use MakeTCR (Andy Giddings, but I can send it) you can dramatically reduce the size. MakeTCR runs on my 5mx but I think it was written for DOS. Using MakeTCR typically seems to produce a file about 55% the size of the original.

If you want I have easily enough free time to do all this for you and test it on my 3c.

Try http://www.memoware.com for a free text file, but remember that, though eTxtRead can read a larger file than the 3c can otherwise use, the 3c itself has size limits. In mine I have a 4MB Flash RAM card, a 1MB RAM card and the machine has 1.5MB available as an internal RAM disk.

I have tried to register Barry Childress TCR format but . . . nothing doing. It is not necessary though as registering it would not make it work any differently. Andy Giddings stuff and eTxtRead are free.
