converting mpgs,avi's,etc to pda format.

i know kinoma producer can do it, but im hoping theres a free way, since Gmovie did come with my clie.. so any help?

The copy of Picture Gear Lite that came with my Clie can handle .mpg and .mov but won't recognize .asx and that's the limited sample I have on hand right now.

doesn't windows.com have some sort of converter tool free for download? and I thought I read somewhere in here that the Kinoma was a free download, too? Was I mistaken?

You are right... Kinoma Player is definitely free but it never did say that the Kinoma Producer (Movie Maker) will be free too.... Try download the trial version and check it out. It's a great tool. I've been quite satisfied with it.... Only problem was that it needs Quicktime *Pro (*not too sure) to be able to install and convert the movies....

If you get tealmovie, the demo download will come with a free converter, but, I don't know if this will work with kinoma. Personally, I prefer(and have) teal movie. I looked at kinoma, but it just doesn't look as good. Of course, if you have a clie, wash both those down the drain....
