New Rom for what? The e740? Can I get that new rom for my Maestro? What updates does the new rom come with? Is the new rom Ms Pocket Pc 2002 update they have on their site or is this one newer update?? Thank you.

Sent e740 in Toshiba provided box on Tuesday 10-29. Return box arrived day after I made call to recall number. Unit arrived in California on Wednesday 10-30. Unit left California on Thursday 10-31. Unit arrived at my office this morning (11-1) at 10:45 a.m. Not bad for a company with a brand new product that so many people seem to want to take to task.

soft reset, it's the number on the left upper corner of screen.

The old one is 1.0204.0409

My 740 is at Toshiba's service ctr in California now for the upgrade. It should be back on Monday, so I can confirm that the ROM upgrade was done.

I have had no syncing problems. One idea would be to download the latest Microsoft Activesync version. Delete the old one and start over. The latest version is 3.6 and is available on the Microsoft web site.

Got my E740 back from Toshiba on Mon 11/4 as promised by their 3 day service...ROM upgrade was done. Took care of ActiveSync disconnecting. I never had any of the button problems.

Noticed the MAC had been changed, even though I did get the same unit back, as the screen protector sheet was still in place.

However, now the speaker doesn't work! Apparently they didn't test that or it was overlooked somehow. They're sending another FedEx box to repair it for me. Service help was very courteous, even though the people answering the phones need to get someone from the Tech side on the phone with them, as they don't know much about the individual models.

Oh, well, good thing I'm in town for the next week.
Maybe next time......
