Suppose you switch on a laptop or a PDA in an area where you could connect to either wlan and cellular access (without having to sign on), and you open a browser (or some application). How does the application decide which connection to use for connecting to the Internet? Any difference if the device is also connected to a LAN?
Also, how could you tell specify which connection to use .... lets say you have wlan access from two sources one of which is free and the other one you have to pay by amount used --- and you are using some software that allows you seamless roaming. Now is there a way to set preferences among various possible connection possibilities? Thanks!
