I have a wireless router at home and when I log on with my Ipaq the DHCP client list shows my Ipaq using some generic name like Your-oc 234...ect (i cant exactly remeber). How do I have it broadcast a custom name like "Chrisnonstop" or something else?

Try Start-Settings-System tab-About-Device ID tab and put the name you want in Device Name, you may have to soft reset for it to take effect.

Ok, that worked perfectly...thanks! Now how do I go about doing the same thing with my desktop running WINXP?

Start - Control Panel - Performace&Maintainence (if you use old look and feel, skip this) - System - Computer Name tab, then change name button.
