OK you Ipaq experts, here's the situation & I hope you can follow. It's a bit confusing.

I am charging up my 5400 extended battery on the battery adapter, attached to my expansion pack plus (the slim battery is removed & the battery adapter with the extended battery is attached).

I don't have my 5400 at the moment so I am using my 3850 in the expansion pack plus (power off)to charge up the extended battery with the ac adapter plugged into the outlet.

Well it charges up fine. Then I unplug the Ipaq, remove it from the expansion pack plus, power on & slip it back into the expansion pack plus to check the battery charge. I go to the start menu>settings>system>power & it says external battery 100%. Great!

The problem is if I remove the battery from the battery adapter for a second & then stick it back on to double check the battery charge I get the External Battery Low message & it powers off the expansion pack & then there is no charge at all. That's the problem.

Does anyone know why it would not read a full 100% charge after I remove the battery for just a second? Let me hear all your ideas please because this is driving me CRAZY!! Thanks to all!!

Try removing the expansion pack, taking the battery out for a second liek you say, putting the battery back in, and then putting it back on the ipaq. Does it still give you a battery message?

Yes, that is exactly what I did. Took the expansion pack off, removed the battery for a sec, then put it back on the expansion pack & then back on the Ipaq. Got the Low Battery message again.

I happen to have several of these Extended batteries for the 54/5500 & I tried with all the batteries & this is what happened for all of them.

They all charged up fine to 100%, but once removed for a sec & then put back on, lost all power.

Do you think it has something to do with the battery adapter or something?

Maybe if the battery was removed & then put directly on the 5400 ( which I do not have at the moment) it would work??

Any details on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Amanda
