Those of you who are long time listeners.....(Ann) will no doubt be aware of the on going debate about which Datebook program is better, Datebook5 or Agendus.

Here (http://support.iambic.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=61) is the new Beta for Agendus in version 8.0.

It has several new features and rather than list them here, if your interest is moderately peaked then I'd suggest you go download the beta and play.

Since I'm almost exclusively on my Treo, I haven't loaded it to the Que but it is working on my hardware.

There are several threads at the above site that need to be reviewed in order to fully use the program.

Reinbeau and I have had a very friendly debate about which one is better. And I will say this that both have advantages but the gap seems to have narrowed.....the one thing that I really like is now a seperate program called "MakeSpot". This allows coloring of individual choices for holidays or the user's whim. It is at the moment a stand alone program but was the missing link that I had always requested. It is also available in one of the threads for preview.

CAUTION: If you have never been a "beta" tester of software you may want to wait. I strongly suggest that you be familiar with keeping a backup of the none beta version handy if for some reason of conflict etc. If your not comfortable in doing Palm software beta testing and your abilities to restore your device and software in a quick and timely fashion then be advised.

I've been playing with this beta for most of today and have had no crashes so it appears stable but again - it's not on my Que and probably won't be until late next week as I was gone last week and will be travelling again this week.

i downloaded and installed v8.0 but I could n't make entries. I had bought the build 365 (dec,2003) but entering my password gave the error that this was invalid because the version was too old...

I had to switch back to the old version.

But as far as I could see it looked nice. Hope that I can install v8.0 without extra cost though...

I forgot to explain this: trying to enter or change anything resulted in a message that the trial period was finished.. You then can enter you password but, as allready mentioned, didn't work. :(

In a seperate topic on their board you'll find the trial code.

It runs very stable (till now), has a location field, birthday field, picture in the adress book and some more enhancements.

I have posted a request to support the location field and route to button for the Ique, if more people join my request, maybe we'll get them to do it.

Build 399 adds several features and fixes. The upgrade from the December version of 7.0 will cost $9.95 if you registered.

Build 399 adds the ability to add color to the days without the use of Makespot as previously used.

Again, it's stable on my Treo but haven't tried it yet on the Que for time reasons.
