I have a Palm IIIxe that is a few years old. For the last couple of months everytime I turn it on I have to reset the digitizer. If I use the Palm for any length of time I have to reset the digitizer several times. Any idea as to what's wrong and how/if it can be fixed?

as for why you have to reset it i do not know.
A program you could try is digifix (http://www.coopcomp.com/digifix/digifix.zip), it can do the resetting automatically when you reset/turn on/hotsync your palm and it's freeware too.

if digifix doesn't work, you may need to get a new digitizer. You can get them at ********hightech.com, or you could look on ebay for a broken handheld.

I'm not sure exactly what your problem is, but it may be related to a cable in the unit that connects the digitizer and the motherboard. This is a common problem with the III series. If you want to take you palm apart, you might try making sure the cable is secure and such. Be carefull, these units have very high voltage, and could shock you if you open up the approriatly labeled "high voltage" area. Cheers.

The backlight circuit in B/W Palms, like the IIIxe, only go to 90V. The color Palms go to 800Vpp !!
