Hi,

I'm looking at buying a iPAQ and I'm wondering does anybody know if it's possible to connect a 4150 (or other iPAQ) to a mobile hard drive via USB and play MPEG/DivX films or MP3 files from it, or just transfer the files from the hard drive to iPAQ memory?
(I already have an archos AV Jukebox 020, with my complete CD collection ripped as MP3 and a few DivX SP films on it).
Unfortunately my Archos only has a CF/SM card port to input from card to hard drive but not the otherway, so Í'm forced to use the USB port.

Thanks for any help.

Every ipaq model does not have USB host port. You cannot plug in any usb devices directly to it. There is 3rd party CF usb host card that let you use some usb devices. Obviously you need ipaq model that accept cf card. And i'm not sure if it will let you plug in that particlular device you have. You may want to contact them and ask if you are interested.

Hi AnswerDude,

Thanks for the answer, it certainly looks promising, they state its supports mass storage devices, zip drives, removeable HDD's etc. but I'll ask to make sure.
I'll have to stay clear of the 41XX iPAQ's though, cause they don't have a CF port and also the jackets don't fit either, so thanks again, you saved me from making a wrong buy.

you can get H2215 which does support CF and SD. and also might want to considor a 3rd party file explorer. the file explore might not be able view storage devices connected to CF card through USB.
make sure that the CF card does have driver for PPC 2003.(H2215 comes with PPC 2003)
