Johnh walterg 05-11-2004, 02:48 AM the special characters you can insert (Shift+Ctrl+C or Ctrl+nr.) in a text are rather limited, with just few symbols or part. letters. I just wandered if there is any way or sw that permits to add some new one (i'm thinking to something like symbols in word) servus walter stolkjo 05-11-2004, 06:01 AM Ok, so what you are referring to is the IBM codepage 1252 (ANSI - Latin I). What you get with Shift+Ctrl+C is not the complete table. The complete table is available by holding down the Ctrl key and enter the number, e.g. hold down the Ctrl key and “0154 this give you : š. What characters are you looking for? Hope this helps, John MartinG 05-11-2004, 07:59 AM Very interesting - I hadn't actually realised that Ctrl+Shift+C didn't access all the characters. In that case, the attached freeware program may be helpful. It's 'CharMap' from the now defunct Pelican Software. Runs on anything with a Series 5 screen or larger. Similar to the Windows app. of like name - self explanatory in use. Cheers, Martin walterg 05-11-2004, 08:37 AM john, if you say the complete table is not visible, where is the list of all the possible inserting characters in the nB (hidden somewhere  ) ? remembering all the ansi codes isn't so easy :D if not, i presume that the only alternative is "CharMap". i just tried it, rather primitive and essential but it's ok. thanks to you all servus walter MartinG 05-11-2004, 08:58 AM Well, of course the other alternative is that you install extra fonts that support more/different characters. You might like to look here (http://www.geocities.com/zavorine/epoc/) for some free utilities to help with this. Or you might like FontMachine from mBrain (http://www.mbrainsoftware.com/Psion/FontMachine/FontMachine.htm). Cheers, Martin stolkjo 05-11-2004, 09:50 AM I don't remember them either but page 190 in the 5MX manual has the codepage. If you want I can scan it and make it into a pdf. John walterg 05-11-2004, 12:11 PM don't bother, i'll look by myself in the manual. thanks again. walter Suomiman 05-11-2004, 03:00 PM You can also use Exab. A great program that allow you als to use a lot of accents (Menu + Up). Very nice utilitie ohsix 05-11-2004, 03:55 PM You can also use TwinKey and create your own hotkeys. Keith walterg 05-12-2004, 02:03 AM never heard about "Exab". where i can find it? walter MartinG 05-12-2004, 04:01 AM Originally posted by walterg never heard about "Exab". where i can find it?
