I too recently started using a tungsten C. I was previously using a Sony Clie (which so far has had a better track record than the tungsten C for hot sync problems from my limited experience.) I've been having problems hot syncing sometimes. Immediately after hitting the cradle hot sync button, the palm will freeze and have to be reset with the back reset button. A hard reset seems to be the only thing that works (temporarily). Another thing I've run into is the PC palm desktop software locked up one one occasion, and I had to log out and back in (Win 2000).

As for your situation, first you might want to try uninstalling the software (after backing up your user folder that is inside the palm folder) and reinstall it. When you reinstall it, make sure you enter the same user name that you currently use with your Tungsten C. That way the tungsten data is supposed to transfer to the PC.

It that does not help, probably the most effective thing would be to try contacting palmone technical support. They replied to an email that I sent them the same day.

Another thing you could try is in the palm desktop program, go into hotsync / setup menu. Click the network tab and make sure your username is checked.
