Hi

Could someone please tell me how do I connect my PDA to a network. I have a PCMCIA jacket and a 3Com ( badged Dell ) PC Card but I cannot seem to find any drivers for it!

There are some on the IPAQ but they seem to be generic ones and dont do anything when the card is inserted.

Thanks
Mark

You have to make sure any PC card you purchase for the iPAQ is made for "handhelds only" or "handhelds and laptops."

Do you know of any like this?

First, are you interested in wireless or wired Ethernet connection? With wireless, besides the pc card, you'll need an access point.

Second, if you want to join an existing network not under your control, you need to know the IP address of the DHCP server or get a static IP address along with the network mask and default gateway.

The funny thing is I can get wireless working no problem at all. I have a linksys setup and the card comes with CE drivers. The network I want to connect to does not have wireless setup but it does have DHCP running.

How are you attempting to access the network with the DHCP server? Are you using a wired ethernet card? Did you get the network settings in use such as network mask, default gateway, domain name (the DHCP server may not be providing this information)?

Even if you use the same card, you will probably need to modify the settings -- in this case you should create a separate connection for each.
