How to go online

This one may seem like a dumb one to a few.....

I have a ipaq 1945 and a Samsung phone with IRDA . How can i get online using my phone ?

If i use my phone as a modem...then how do i set my PDA to dail out ? and which online services would u recommend ?

Who not use Infrared Interface?
You can surf the Internet through infrared interface with cell phone. The options as follows:
1, create a new connection and choose infra model
2, type *99# (Without international code limitation)
3, type ( +cgdcont=1,"","internet" )
4, choose GPRS
5, input your user name, password
6, finish

Thanks for your post....i tried what u explained in your post.

When u make a new connection and after you have selected the Generic IRDA option, the next window that opens requires to input phone numbers.....

I was not sure where should i type the text u eplained.

I am a complete novice and just started to play with my PDA. I would appreciate if you could explain it again.

1.Right! Just input " *99# " as your phone number,and you don't need to input international code and region code.
2.Press Next, can you see the "Advanced" button, press it. And then, input ( +cgdcont=1,"","internet" ) in the external command blanket.
3. You neither need to input your user name or your password. Just press next until you can see Finish button.
4 that's all.

and make sure you call your cell phone company and ask them to add the GPRS service.. and also ask them about the cost of GPRS.. some phone company's GPRS gets rather expensive.. :D
