Charging problems?

Hello,
I'm having some difficulties with my aero 8000. When inserting my AC it just doesn't turn on. The green and orange led are flashing fast after each other every 10 seconds. I allready replaced the main battery but this didn't do the trick. Does anyone know if the backup battery has to be inserted or does the device also work without. I have the impression that the backup battery has died, but have no idea of the consequences. The aero has just stopped working. Full reset didn't work so i'm a little desperated. Help. Thx in advance!

Don't know about your unit but I have three different units and all three work the same. The back up is there just in case the main dies. In mine you can take them both out and stick the main in and it will come up, but any data you had would be missing.
