Need Help

Hi guys, i'm new to this and just recently picked up a TE. Now i have the card that came with it in the expansion slot, but it doesn't read or pick up the card, so i'm unable to add anything to it. Just wondering what I can do in order to get it going. Thanks.

what brand is the card? If it came with the T/E it should work. Did you try putting things on through the quick install?

Are you referring to the blank black plastic card that came with your TE? If yes, that is a dummy card. If no, what model is the card? You may have to download the SDIO update from PalmOne.

yes, it's the card that came with it. I guess i'm a dummy for not realizing that. should it have come with an expansion card?

no, it does not come with an expansioncard. I just thought maybe you got a special deal where you got a free expansion card with it or something like that.

thanks for the chuckle, I think it's a common newbie question, so I was laughing because I can relate, and I thought it was a good catch by Mousky :)

So cute it makes you want to puke: 9yo dd has a Barbie house, and the "security entry card" looks like an SD card, only Barbie pink. I'd stick it in my iPAQ for pretty, but I need the slot for the SD card. Awww.....

If you want to learn more, you can do a search on Backup card in Palm forums, you'll probably get some info on common problems, others' solutions.

In my case, the backup card failed out-of-the-box, it was $ in addition to the T|E cost. I got a replacement after some hassles.

If I had to do it all over again, I would probably buy a card locally since I could just test it to be sure it works, and not deal with Cust Service calls, etc.

Are you wanting just expanded memory or are you interested in data backup? I got dh a card for each. The SD backup card is only for backups, kept at home safe; expansion cards for games, music, photos, oh yeah and files for *work*.
