For those of you who read my premature message on the PalmPC site, please forgive the redundancy--I really have no idea what I was talking about. I want a keyboard attached...

I have never used a palm but am afraid that I need to invest in one to organize my life. I don't know anything about them so i am turning to the experts. This is what I expect out of my new friend:

1. calendar to keep me organized--can it be linked to a computer program so I can plug it into my computer and down/up load?
2. address book--can it be compatable with Microsoft Outlook?
3. big external plug-up keyboard.
4. color screen maybe?
5. what else can you offer me?

I need something easy to use!! I finally mastered the Microsoft Office suite and do not want to convert--I want to type into my computer and then transfer it with a click of a button to my palm.

Am I dreaming that this is all possible?!

Thank you for all your assistance,
Ginger Shaw

Greetings;

A pocket PC can do all you ask and more. It has Microsoft Excel, work, outlook, Internet explorer and will organize your life beyond belief. As for the keyboard there are after market keyboards for some and I have seen that one of the future iPAQs might have a "light" keyboard, the PDA shines a light on the desk that reflects a keyboard that you type on. The next question is how much do you want to spend? For a non color pocket Pc you will have to look hard, color is the way. Any documents that are placed in a certain file on your desktop automatically syncs to you PDA. I use Microsoft Office at work and if I want a document on my iPAQ I just place a copy or place the file there. I have also created excel files at home on the unit while watching TV, easy.

Poof your dream has come true. There are many manufactures of PPC's (Pocket PC's) in many price ranges. I can direct you to review sites for more info or please feel free to post more questions ot PM/email me.

I myself am partial to the HP/Compaq iPAQ series and own a model 3635 that's two years old and still is great, even tho I am looking at purchasing a new iPAQ when the 5000 series comes out.

Greetings;

Here is a link for a program that will allow the use of a full screen keyboard. Here is a brief description "Spb Full Screen Keyboard is a unique text input software for Pocket PC. Unlike other input methods it covers entire screen area and has keys that are large enough to be typed with finger-tips, not with a stylus. It is very handy for entering large amounts of text - as you type, the text is being entered into an edit box where it can be selected, deleted or modified. "
