I registered a project on sourceforge.net called CrackBerry. CrackBerry's aim is to write an open source alternative OS and enterprise platform for the RIM 95x and 58/6710.

As I am not (yet) a proficient programmer, I'm inviting anyone with an interest in this to join this GPL project.

Think of the possibilites of a free, open source OS and server software platform for the RIM BlackBerry. Such a GPL platform could receive widespread adoption for commercial and industrial applications...especially if this OS is compatible with existing 3rd party applications.

If Good can write an alternative OS and enterprise server platform, I'm sure a team of many talented volunteers can do much better.

If you are interested, please go to:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/crackberry

Just register for sourceforge, then follow the links to contact me, and I will add you to the project.

Sincerely,
themobileman

OK I guess. Only one other person has joined the project. But its nice to see that there is enough interest in using or testing CrackBerry.

Hopefully after enough word gets around, there will be a lot more volunteers interesting in developing CrackBerry. My goal is to release a kernel around springtime.

You might want to mention this to some of your guys and see if they're interested in volunteering.
