Hi
Can anyone tell me, how to use REVO via infra-red to enter
text massage to Nokia 8310 for MSM. I am sick of using the Nokia
key pad for entering text.

Thanks
Clark

If you have the appropriate version of the 'Email' program installed, it will have SMS as an option when you click the 'New' button.

If not, I can highly recommend the shareware application Phoneman Pro from www.zenobyte.com - it allows you to manage your phonebook, send/receive SMS, set operator logos and ring tones etc...

1) Make sure you have a configuration set up in "Control Panel / Modems" for your Nokia 8310 as this will be used by the Email application to send SMS messages.

2) In the Email application menus, go to:

Tools > Account settings > SMS

and select your Nokia 8310 in the Details tab. With IR enabled on the phone and the phone lined up with the Revo, move to the Advanced tab and tap the "Edit" button. The Revo will then read the SMS centre number from the phone. Make sure it is in full international Country | Area | Number format but as a single continuous string and without the leading plus sign. if it isn't, then manually edit it to the correct format.

You should then be able to compose and send messages with the Revo.

Mine works fine with my Ericsson R520m, and previously with R320s - both have integrated modem.

Not sure what to suggest - did you get the Psion to read off the SMS service centre number from the phone?

Oops! Just realised that Mike already mentioned about checking the SMS centre number is recognised by the Psion, so I guess you've already done that.

What exactly goes wrong? Perhaps you can post some more detail.
