I'm thinking of upgrading my 2215's rom to the latest version 1.10.
I've done a full back up and assume that I'll have to restore this back up when I've installed the rom because a full reset will wipe my Ipaq clean.????
The HP blurb says I'll need to reinstall programs after the upgrade, so this I assume will be done with the restored back up.
Any bad experiences with the new rom version???

From what I understand - if you ever do a ROM upgrade, you should *never* do a system restore, and that you should re-install the apps. That should be easy enough though - they'll be listed in the add/remove programs in ActiveSync Tools drop down menu. And all of your contact/appointment/note/task items will be automatically synchronized.
A previous conversation with an HP technician also told me this as I was preparing to send off a client's iPAQ for repair.
Hope this helps.

Yo ucan't restore a back up from a previouse ROM version. I don't think it will elt you, but even if it does you'll mes up your iPAQ. What I did was sync my ipaq to copy my inbox, contacts and such to my pc. Then using file explorer I copied the Program Files" folder fro mthe ipaq to my pc as a back up. I also copied the windows\start menu folder. Then after the update, i reistalled all the programs to the same folders and then copied the "Program Files" folder and the Start menu folder back to theire original locations. That resotres all your start menu shortcuts and program settings.
