I use Powerloc Destinator and think it is a great product. It allows you to keep maps on a storage card and it provides power to the device via the automobile cigarette lighter/power adapter while in operation.

Without maps, you would have to find a GPS system that simply displayed longitutde and latitute coordinates -- would you be able to find your destination with just this information?

You have the configuration recommended by Powerloc for the 3600 series. The map of the Washington DC area is approximately 40MB; the application itself (basically two executables and a directory of vocal data) takes about 2MB of memory.
