I am currently using my 957 to receive company related emails via Lotus Notes. I would also like to forward my home email account to my Blackberry, but I'd rather not forward it through my work email address. Does anyone know how to email/message the Blackberry directly? I'm using Cingular.

Go here and download Email Redirect Client. If you have a PC at home that can be left on all the time (connected to internet), then this tool is great.

Thanks, but how do I forward the email to my Blackberry? I don't know an email address for it. All of my email currently comes through my company's Lotus Notes server and I don't want to forward my home email through the company server.
I'm sure my Blackberry must have it's own direct address, through Cingular, but I don't know it. Any other Cingular users doing this?

Rick,
Comstar Interactive offers software you can download onto your device which allows you to receive and respond to all pop 3 accounts. Details on the RIM ROAD homepage. They're currently offer a two week free trial.

There's software coming from RIM that will allow you to download pop 3 email to 950/957's..
Rogers at&t in canada is officially saying it'll be out in early 2003.
Check rogers.com -> wireless -> blackberry and compare all 4 blackberries.. in the comparison sheet it says "pop 3 email - coming in 2003" whilst for the new blackberries it's already available.
Thanks! I'll give them a call.

The xxxx@imcingular address is a seperate service offered by Cingular and is not part of the Blackberry offering. You must subscribe to this service and pay the monthly fee. Cingular does offer the combined service called Corporate Email Plus. Keep in mind you have to set up forwarding rules in your email account and may be required to have your desktop on and email open.
Comstar Interactive offers Pop 3 forwarding in which your desktop and email need not be on. You can "Pop" all your POP 3 email accounts at anytime.

To find out your RIM's email address do the following.
Go to Options,
Scroll down to 'User Profile',
Once in 'User Profile', simply press the wheel button and select 'save options'.
You should now receive a message with your First and Last name and your Username. The email address for the RIM will be your username@imcingular.com
Hmmm,
I chose the options icon (on the main screen) and I do not see a "User Profile" selection. The last selection on the Options list is Storage Mode. I have nothing below that.
I was hoping that my email address would be: my_pin@imcingular.com but that doesn't seem to work.

Hi Rick,
Looks like you may need to call customer service to get your username. They will ask for your RIM's MAN number which you can get by going to Options then Status and the number will be listed as the PIN number (should be 8 digits). Customer service is at 1-800-304-3044.

Thanks for all of your help, but it looks like I'm out of luck. Cingular and RIM have both told me that, since I have an Enterprise version, the only way to get email to my Blackberry is through my company's Lotus Notes server. I hate the thought of carrying two devices to handle home and work related email, but it looks like I have no choice.
Personally, I believe that there is no technical reason that it can't be done. When I do an Options - Network Settings - Register Now, I get a status message that comes back to my Blackberry WITHOUT going through the company email system.
Oh well. :(
Thanks again!

Hi Rick,
If you're thinking of buying another BlackBerry in order to receive both your home and your work email you should think instead of purchasing the new 5810 or 6710 (the newest BlackBerrys with the phone) as these have what is called the BlackBerry web client and you can receive pop3 email to your BlackBerry as well your corporate email. It's a great item to have and then you can get rid of your cell phone at the same time!
Currently they're being sold through AT&T and a few other retailers in the US. If you go to the BlackBerry website (www.blackberry.com) I believe you will find prices and areas to purchase from.
Good luck! :D
