I have just bought a neglected MP2000.
It came with the keyboard, computerlink, software and manuals.. the one thing that is lacking is the adaptor. Having researched a little online, I have chosen to install the serial board instead of wearing out the plug on the main unit.
(I am using a universal regulated power supply on my unit, only have a rechargable battery. Output 7.5 volt 0.9 amp. Works well, After a few removals and installations, the battery now accepts a charge and holds it. At the first few attempts, it reported the battery was useless.)
I would like to know the following.
Has anyone had any problems installing the board?
Does anyone use a PCMCIA with SDram (or other memory) in their unit? (Higher capacities than the memory cards)
Does anyone have and use wireless internet on their MP?
Has anyone tried to install a linux distro on their unit? If so, can you run the X server?
Anyone use infra red for a rs232 link to the computer, or can you use the computers irda compliant port for the included link program?
Many thanks.
