I purchased an Ique the other month in the US, already owning a SPIII I simply registered my Ique to be able to use Navigator 6 and I have been using it in the UK with no problems.
However today betty seemed a little more than confused, as he reached the M6 toll road she panicked and ended up lost! (even though at times she reported me on the toll road, most of the time I was in some field or other) Once we got off the toll road she recalculated a partial route and refused to route all the way to Liverpool, finally locking up.
It took a reset to calm her down and she appears back to her own self.
Anyone managed to navigate the toll road? I guess most of you are using city select, I don't have that luxury as I have the US version of that software.

I have City Select installed and I cant get Betty to work with the new Toll road either, I would imagine its because its a new road and from what I can see with City select, its only up to date for 2002/2003,. I live and work around Southampton and although my work place(yard) has been there for 2 years, it has still to show on City Select, in fact quite a few location (New estates etc) even though they are on the local A-Z and have been for at least a year, still dont show on City select. Like you I was travelling to Liverpool and Betty was totally confused untill I got to Junct 14 north bound, then she picked up and off we went again.

You think the M6 toll is bad.. don't go anywhere near Northampton is my advice :) and the new A120 from Stanstead to Braintree is an adventure everytime..
But this isn't the end of it.. the Shorditch oneway system is 50% correct, and according to Betty you can still drive around trafalgar square.. ho hum :)

Since we are talking about this, anyone got any idea at all when Garmin will release the next map update?????
I was in my car this afternoon and was going around Southampton once again and got my dear Betty lost once again because of roads and estates still not on my mapping, the phrase spoken by the esteamed Jim Royale comes to mind.. 'Satellite Navigation my Arse! '..hahahahaha

If you go to the Ordnance Survey site, and use "GetaMap", then you'll find that all their maps still show the M6T as dotted.
Not too surprising, as the map was last updated about July 2003... which means that it would have been "frozen" a bit before then.
Similarly, the Garmin maps were released at the start of the year... so the data would have been several months older.
Its a shame that they can't issue "patches" to cover such things, but it seems that is not possible :-(

It is possible. Anything is possible in software. There is no reason why they could not provide 'patch' releases. But that's the difference between marketing and software.

I've used the M6Toll road a few times now, and betty does have the road (CSv6), however, if you look at the road on Betty it's a small green line instead of the thick red line that normal motorways have. Also betty doesn't like it, she constantly tells me to take exits on roundabouts that don't exist, or are on different nearby roads, and I also get the constant "Off Route" crap. She also decides to give me some wierd route where she gets me back on to the m42 (when travelling from Liverpool south to London) the wrong way for a few junctions and then wants me to do a U-Turn and head back down the M42.
Strange....

Judging from my history with Garmin GPS units, and then assuming they'll keep on about as before, updates to the maps can be expected about once every year.
But then you should also account for the fact, that the map database used for these updates is a few months older, since Garmin has to "Garminize" the data before release in their various products (Metroguide, City Select, City Navigator etc.).
Use Navteq's website to register errors you find in the areas where you drive. They usually do listen, even if it may take several months before you get any feedback.
