SJ30-Sound and Icons

I just bought an SJ30, and I love it! I noticed that on every other picture of an SJ30, the screen shows 24 "smaller" icons. On the other half of the photos, it shows 12 "bigger" icons. My SJ30 shows 12 icons. Is there a way to get into a "small icon" mode, and thereby show more icons?

Also, the alarm is rather weak. Is there a way to increase the volume.

Steve, there's a 'preferences' option to list small or large icons. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the volume.

I looked through the books, but I didn't see any reference to this.

The sound is very very soft. I am worried about how the sound will be impacted by a leather carrying case.
