Anyone heard of this. I upgraded my 7 to netBook and all is well. But today I discovered when using my Clove USB to serial cable that when I turn on the netBook it immediately turns off. I turn it back on and all is well. It doesn't do this with my docking station serial connection. And, it doesn't do it if I turn the link off on the netBook or close the link on the PC. It only does this if the link is active on both machines, connect the cable and turn on the netBook.

Not heard of this one Vince. Atleast there is a work around as you should always leave your link off on your 7book when not connected to help preserve battery life. Not sure how differently the docking station and the serial port connect (shouldn't be any difference).

Hi Vince,

The only possibility I can think of is that somehow the USB-Serial converter is causing a high current drain, making the 7Book think it is low on battery.

Do you get this same effect when the unit is plugged into the mains? The only other suggestion I'd have is a complete backup, take all the batteries out, put the main battery back in, then a new backup battery, restore the OS and your data, make sure the battery is fully charged, then try again.

If you can be bothered that is ;)
