When I reset my Ipaq the other day this warning appeared:

"Calendar Flash Manager

The backup region is full! Please remove some items and then reset the device, otherwise the device will stop updating the backup process"

Does anyone know how I can remove some items as it advises? I realise that this has something to do with the Calendar on the Ipaq, but have no idea where to remove the items from. There are no notes in Help on the Ipaq and there is no function within Calendar to remove backup items.

Has anyone else had the same thing pop up? I'd be grateful for any advice.

Thanks, Amanda

PS. Mine is a standard Ipaq with the normal Windows software on it?

The closest thing I've found from another newsgroup is this:

"Assuming you have ROM 1.00 on your 3955, this problem is related to the
Permanent PIM feature. This uses a fixed area of flash memory; clearing
the iPAQ File Store will not help.

Your only option is to disable Permanent PIM for Contacts if you want to
continue using it with Calendar. If that doesn't solve the problem,
you'll need to disable Permanent PIM completely; the memory area just
isn't large enough.

HP/Compaq have removed Permanent PIM from the latest ROMs for the 39xx
series, recommending instead that you use iPAQ Backup with either the
iPAQ File Store or a storage card. The version of iPAQ Backup in the
latest ROMs for 39xx supports scheduled backups, which helps.

You can also pick up a free copy of Pocket Backup 2 (or a cheap upgrade
to Pocket Backup 2 Plus for US$10) from www.spritesoftware.com"

I don't know how close to your situation this is, but Hope it helps.

Thanks for your help. I have an Ipaq H3970 and that's about all I know. I have no idea how to disable what you are talking about. Is this problem happening because I have a lot of contacts? I often back up my Ipaq and Calendar onto my laptop, will that stop me loosing stuff? Not sure what to do next.....
