I was trying to reload the RIM Desktop Manager on a PC after uninstalling the software and am getting unable to register .dll errors. The program has been removed from the registry, add/remove programs and from the c:\ drive. None of the RIM_*.dll's are present on the system anymore but the program still has problems registering the dll's. Has anyone else seen this problem?

This sounds like a problem I have run across a couple of times, involving "mismatched Ole32.dll and Comcat.dll" files. Check out RIM's Support FAQ's at: http://www.blackberry.net/support/faqs/loader/index.shtml
Or look on www.blackberry.net for RIM's Technical Support, Online Support, Support FAQs, Application Loader tool, item 2.

You need to make sure that the versions of the two files, Ole32.dll and Comcat.dll, are matched as described in the Support FAQs.

In some cases, we found that even though the versions matched correctly, one of the files (usually Ole32.dll) might have gotten corrupted. In that case, you might try finding a PC which is working with the BlackBerry software and copying that Ole32.dll to the affected system, assuming of course, that both PCs are running the exact same OS version. Use caution, and make a backup copy of the existing, affected dll's before attempting to change them.
