Now I've got something new.
If I open the Info, from the Palm launcher, select my SD card and then want to see Version, the iQue crashes.
Doesn't matter if I first select Version (with internal info) and then select the card. It's the same result.
With my other card, everything is as normal.
No, it's not any SanDisk, it's a Viking (Toshiba under the hood).
No problem to live with, but it's interesting to see new complexities now and then.

Glad it's not a Sandisk, or we'd have Bookkie all over this thread to ... :D

SanDisk? What SanDisk? I happen to have a Panasonic 512 now!
What is this SanDisk you mention? It's not the same as that stuff you find on pavements?:D
Anders, have you tried that running that card info program that Mitchell Schnier wrote. That gets into all the secret corners of a card. It might help. I suppose a reformat is an option?

Those of you who have got into the programming of Palm units, do anyone of you know how the version number of a program is found?
Is it that the info program checks any particular part of a file, to find the version, or is it like the Palm OS find application, that calls the find interface of an application, and that application itself is responsible for carrying out the find operation?
I'm asking since that may reveal some of the nature of the problem I have now.

Anders your former assertion true: "... that the info program checks any particular part of a file, to find the version..."
A card-related crash is infinitely better than a car-related crash.

Specificly programs should have a #tver resource which contains a text string with the version. There is also a numerical value (which a lot of programs fail to set).

I thought that if the application responded with the version number, then it could be some application on the card that was incorrect.
But then it must be a file that's incorrect, and that combined with the Info utility in the Palm Launcher not being able to handle some kind of illegal value in the file.
If I ever spend the time figuring this one out, I'll let you know.

Could be a corrupted file or bad SD card. You could the contents of the Launcher dir to the other card and try it with the other card. If that works delete the files from the original and copy them back from the other card.
You can also try deleting half the files from the dir, try it, if it works copy the files back, delete the other half and see if you have a problem. If so repeat the procedure, delete half of the files from the half that failed, etc. until you find the culprit.

Yes, I've considered that, but it seemed to be something one could play with, while sitting at an airport waiting for a delayed plane.
Now, my wife want's some help with the curtains. But the PC is chewing on the creation of a new mapset. I'll if that helps on the curious map selection for QueFind. (Mentioned in another thread, but it's the same card.)
