Is there any way to change the speed of the serial connection from 19.2? I tried going to the COM1 port settings and changing that to 115 or a different value, but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone been successfull connecting at a speed that doesn't drag as much ass? Thanks.

I previously found a patch on one of the forums which gave me up to 115k as a choice for syncing. I got a new laptop and had to reinstall CE Services and activesync. I now can't get the choice in activesync for 115k on my laptop. So, yes a patch exists but I need it now also.
Do any of you forum gurus recall the patch for WinCE 2.11?

Go to your device manager in your laptop/desktop, then click on modems, then click on communications cable between two computers, then click on the modem tab and change the speed to 115200, then reboot (it doesn't say you have to but you need to). Change the speed in the casio communications to 115k and then sync.

Actually the procedure is a little different.
On your desktop right click My Computer, select properties. Select Device manager tab. Expand the ports. Right click the COM1, select properties. Here you can set the device speed to 115000 bps. Repeat the procedure for COM2. This works on all versions of Windows.
On XP you will have to go through Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management.
Restart your computer.
On your PDA you can set the speed on the connection page in active Synch only if you turn on the Auto Synch option. The 115kbps is at the top of the list, above 19 kbps setting.
I have been using these settings for a couple of years now with very good results.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. I got it working after I installed the latest version of ActiveSync and changing my port settings.

This is for Tony Tiger.
Actually there are no speed settings in Active Synch on the desktop. It will work as fast as the hardware will allow.
On most laptops due to the fact that one of the serial ports is connected for IR communication - which is inherently slow - the default settings will generally be set at 9600 bps. You will have to change this.
Also the 115 kbps setting is above the 19.9 kbps setting. It is the first one in the serial connection list - so one is likely to miss it or think it is not available.
I have used 115 kbps setting on a whole range of machines ranging from 166 MMX Win 95 OSR 2 to Athlon XP 1800 + with Win XP without any problems.
In fact i used to set the serial port to 115 kbps even on old time 486 machines to get the best out of serial port connected 56 kbps modems & using Laplink cable for fast & dirty hard disk cloning. This too on machines without the 16550 serial port chips.
I have found that on Win XP the port is set to 115 kbps by default.
So in reality you shouldl not need a patch for your Laptop.

Thanks all.
I was getting thrown by the lack of settings in Activesync. When I changed the link between computers setting to 115K and then the E-100 to 115k it connected again.
Previously, just changing the E-100 to 115K merely prevented me from syncing.
