Hi all,

does anybody know the pinning of the Ique connector?
Reason behind this: I bought a car charger, which has got the Ique connector on one end and an USB connector on the other end, which connects to a unit for the cigarette lighter. If I use this cable on my PC it's possible to charge Betty up, but not possible to perform a sync. I had a look at the connector and all four pins of the USB connector wired up. I believe there is on a bridge missing between some pins.
I would like to wire the cable up in such a way, so I can use it for both purpose.

Any help, any ideas?

Cheers.

I have the same probem. I have the one from Belkin, but it is wired correctly. It seems the universal connector is not universal. Here's the wiring diagram, but don't be surprised if its the way it should be.

Hello again,

I took the Belkin cable and the cable from the Garmin travel kit. I measured them both and than figured out which pins are used. I don't know which is the number one pin, but I hope I can describe how I did it.
I put down the USB connector, so I can see the two little holes in connector and below the pins for the USB (the end which plugs into the PC facing towards me). Then pin to the left I named 1, the one next is 2 and so on.
The Garmin connector, I look down from the top, pins showing away from me. Simply hold the connector in your, as you would connect it to Betty.
The pin to the left is pin 1 again, the one at the other end is pin 16.
(Remember, that the way I did it, but I don't if the pins officially labelled like that)
To get the cable to work for Sync and charge you have to have following pins connected to each other:
Pin 1 USB to Pin 1 / 7 / 8 / 12 Garmin connector (I believe that's the ground)
Pin 2 USB to Pin 2 Garmin connector (should be for USB data)
Pin 3 USB to Pin 3 Garmin connector (should be for USB data)
Pin 4 USB to Pin 4 /16 Garmin connector (should be power)

I modified both my cable (Belkin and Garmin) and both are working fine for Sync and charging on USB port.

Cheers Pivi

PS: I hope you understood what I wrote. Would be much easier for to describe in German.
