I wonder if anyone can help. I bought a T2 a few months ago (upgrade from M105). Good piece of equipment, but occasionally very frustrating!

The Hotsync process with the T2 has often not completed, but now simply never completes. I have recently bought a new Dell desktop computer which came pre-loaded with Outlook 2003 and it was necessary to load the Palm patch for Outlook 2003. I have tried reducing the number of items to synchronise under the conduit settings, but it has not made a difference.

The message on the T2 Hotsync log reads: "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop was lost. Some of your data was NOT backed up. OK Documents to Go."

The process does update the Contacts etc using Outlook and Versamail, but does not transfer any files under Docs to Go or any applications. The PC keeps on attempting to sync and I have to end the application using Ctrl/Alt/Del.

Will it help to remove all the files and applications from the T2 and start again? If so, how do I ensure that the corrupted files or incorrect settings are not again simply copied across from the PC on the first Hotsync?

I notice that you said the process does update the Contacts etc, but does not transfer any files under Docs to Go or any applications. I met this problem once, my problem was caused by the unregisted sotware, so you can check if your Docs to go is expired. Get a registed version may help.
But you said the PC keeps on attempting to sync, i've no idea about that. When i met the problem, it just skip over.

The desktop of DTG is a freeware, come with the palm software or it is a trail version?

I met the problem, when my palm software is registed, but the desktop is not.

Thanks again for your interest.

It is the version of DTG that came with the Palm rather than a trial version.
