I have a 515 and it keeps turning on automatically. I asked Palm support and they suggested that there is software out there that can stop this. However like all commercial support organisations they did say what. Can any help?

If your 515 is actually turning on "automatically" that is a problem on the Palm. I beleive the person you contacted at PAlm may have understood the problem to be that you were "accidentially" touching one of the button and turning the PAlm on. THere are apps that for example require you to press the Power On button twice to turn on.

I seemed to have had this problem with my 515. As a result the battery drained quickly. I am not really sure that my 515 came on automatically but I would take it out of my purse and it was in a leather case and there it would be, turned on.
I found that the least bit of pressure on the leather case caused one of the buttons to come on and stayed on. Even though my Palm is set to turn off after 2 or 3 minutes. It didn't.
I was advised by Palm to try a soft reset. If that didn't work then I would need to do a hard reset. The soft reset solved my problem thankfully.
I have not gotten a new case yet, and still sometimes it comes on accidently but it shuts off now after 2 or 3 minutes. Perhaps you have tried this soft reset but thought I would throw in these comments. Do with as you will.

Hi Linda,
I too have had the experience of opening the case (Palm Hard Case) and the Palm was on!
A few nights ago I was getting to bed around 1:30 am, my Palm was on my dresser lying open so I could turn the alarm off quickly in the morning. Much to my surprise as I laid in bed with my eyes still open my Palm turned on, flashed a square of light on the ceiling, and turned off!
Always something new from the development team at Palm.
