It doesn't affect anything functionally but has anyone else noticed that the voice guidance volume can't be adjusted to 8? Every time I try, it goes back down to 7. I can adjust it to 7 or 9, but not 8. Like I said, doesn't hurt anything, just bugs me :D

funbob,
I could set my guidance volume on any value from 4 to 10. I didn't try 3 or lower cause I couldn't hear it.

The “voice” guidance has no audio feedback on mine but the general guidance does. Both go to all the stops.

"Guidance" is voice guidance.
"Voice" is voice recordings.

To clarify, I mean the "Guidance" slider. What happens is I'll set it to 8 and tap OK then when I go back into the volume adjustment screen, it'll have mysteriously moved itself back to 7.

That was a much better description and no it’s not only you. You’ve discovered a bug!

I knew I wasn't crazy! :D

Actually, I've noticed that for a long time now but never bothered to mention it. I can't remember if it did that before R3.

Same here.

Shall we call it the “Funbob bug” in honor of the first person to post on it
:)

No I’m sorry we have to vote on it. The choices are:

1. The FunBob Bug

or

2. BEETLEGAGAWAKA7849393NXCKJKJXMX, S,DMLSD.ZZ-ZLDKPSD

Pick one only.:)

As much as #2 just flows off the tongue, I'm gonna have to vote for #1. Woohoo! I'm famous! :D

What would they think if we should all in mass email Garmin and ask for an RMA number after we describe the horrible effects of the FunBob Bug. :D

Hmm, FunBob Bug, couldn’t that also be the name of that Yellow Taxi that comes by on Easter?

Whoa! Guys, whoa!

That is one serious bug that Funbob has picked up on and I think (a) we are all entitled to the new iQue when it comes out, and (b) free upgrades to the maps for the next 3 years.

It's nice to know that we have guys like Funbob working in the back room looking for these problems. The moniker "Funbob bug" rolls off the tongue and can't help but raise a smile! I think all bugs from hereon must be graded on the Funbob Scale.:D

Some new additions to the language:

"My iQue is well and truly Funbobbed!"

"It is Funbobbed beyond all recognition." (FUBAR).

"Hey! I've just discovered a Funbob in my program."

"I forgot to compile this program with the Funbob (debug) option."

"So what's the damage to my car?", "It's Funbobbed!", "A write-off then?"

Now we have to recommend all shareholders of Garmin Ltd to immediately sell that part of their portfolio, since the value will soon plummet to the "baseline" (something it's bound to do, if these shareholders do listen to our advice!).

After that, we can buy the whole thing at a bargain price, rename it "Funbob navigation bugs", and have the whole staff working on free updates for the iQue!

Ten - four.

Wierd, mine is funbobed with 8, 6, 3, or 1.

Yes, mine does too, when I check carefully.
So now the "Funbob bug" has become "rocket science" as well!

Here’s the official Garmin answer to the FunBob Bug:

Dear Curious,

Thanks for bringing this devastating problem to our attention. You can be sure FunBob will be eradicated. We are looking for him now. The reason for the bug is simply that there are only 5 increments built in for the Guidance but we had already recorded Mrs Garmin (Betty) counting from 1 to 10 and she would be very disappointed if we edited out any of her fine work.

ps You can RMA your iQue but we won’t send you one back.

I hear Garmin is ready to call the next iQue "Beyond Funbob" and that's no funbobin' lie. Can we be removed from this forum for funbobing around? They will now have to make a new Smily icon and call it a funnybob..etc, etc......

After some consideration, I've found that this bug isn't annoying at all.
Due to the sound level from the internal speaker, I always have the guidance level set to ten anyway, and that's one of the values that seems to remain, regardless of what you do.
When in the cradle, I adjust the volume on the knob at the side of the loudspeaker.

I used it at work today. The first recorded use in mainstream language. Of course, I can't explain the looks on my coworkers' faces. So, it'll take a while. But it won't be long before newscasters and politicians are saying it on live TV!

"We really funbobbed that mission!"

"So I funbobbed and had relations with the intern! You all can't tell me that you haven't funbobbed at some time in YOUR lives!"

And to think it all started here!

It's a new word widely deserving a wider audience. It would be a hoot if it catches on!

Now, in a desperate attempt to bring this funbobed thread back in line, has anyone noticed anything similar with any of the other settings?
I haven't, but I can't say I've searched either.
