I just received a message that members are limited to a single post every 30 seconds. I'm not sure what that means, as I can't type fast enough to exceed that limit. Maybe it's sort of like a speed trap.

The only reason I can think of Paul is stop malicious people from flooding the server with potentially 100's of identical replies to the same thread?

We get the occasional troll coming out of the toilet now and then. I could perceive an uncontrolled post rate would appeal to their sick mentality.

The limit is there to prevent spamming and it applies to PM's also. A spammer would simply repeatedly paste the same post over and over again with no need of typing or have a program that does it for him.

At first when I read the heading, "Limit On Posts", I thought you were going to be advocating revoking everyone's membership when they crossed 1000 posts! :D I'm sure there are those who would be all for that. :D

Especially if the user name contains references to animals. What say you, Moose?

I've noticed this limit occasionally in the past. Not that I tried to spam (some readers of my previous contributions may think elsewise), but I was just really quick in answering two different questions.

Lean back, breathe slowly, and it solves itself.
I hope the max limit for posts is something like 10000, not 1000, or I'm already very dead in here!

double-clicking the SUBMIT button will make that happen as well...
