A couple weeks ago, I did a hot sync command from my handheld to my desktop, and it "erased" the past data in my datebook. Then a couple of days later I had new, upcoming dates for my datebook and I hot-sync'd again. Then this time it took most of my future appointments. Do I have any hope of finding this data "hidden" in my desktop? The data that was lost during the hot sync was taken from my hand held AND my desktop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First, if the data no longer exists on the Palm or the desktop, it's gone with no hope of recovery. If you have no backups except the normal Palm backup folder and never backed up your desktop files then you've learned why not doing regular backups is a bad idea.

There's no reason why things should be erased during a hotsync unless you've got a corrupted calendar database file, assuming you're using the standard Palm desktop and conduits. You can download DBScan from www.pimlicosoftware.com and check the integrity of your database. There's a slim possibility that a deleted record that's not being handled properly is preventing the database from reading all the entries. Even if it doesn't recover any data, you can at least find out what might be the problem and fix it so this doesn't happen again.
