Not long ago i purchased a 16mb DIMM upgrade for my S7. Everything worked fine for a while until i tried to load a game into the S7 from the inernet. Whilst the game was loading the S7 suddenly performed a hard reset and now refuses to recognise the presence of the extra memory module.
Despite several resets, removing and refitting the module the S7 still does not want to play.
Has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it?
Is my memory module now corrupted and needs replacing?
The game was aS7 version of Dark Horizon so if you find this game on the net DON'T load it into your machine!!!!
Any ideas or helpgreatly appreciated.

the one last thing I'd suggest is taking both batteries out, taking both the memory module and the personality module (other slot) for a good 15 minutes. Then put it all back together and cross your fingers...

It is unlikely that the installation of the sis file for Dark Horizon would cause the problem. Do you recall how much c: memory was available before you loaded the file?
It is possible that you had a bad module and that the first write that went to the memory in the module caused the module to fail. If the suggested full reset does not work send the module back.
Remember when installing the module, all batteries must be out of the Series 7 and you should take the necessary antistatis precausions.
Hope you sort out the problem.

When removing, inserting the cards, handle them carefully as they don't like static. If possible get one of those anti-static cables (from pc world or the like). It is an elastic wrist band with a cable running from it that you connect to earth (or a metal piece on your PC).
I agree that if the Reset does not work, send the DIMM back for a replacement.

Regarding the use of earth straps - what is important is that you are at the same potential as the device that you are working on; of secondary importance is that both you and that device share a single good path to true earth.
Since there isn't really any exposed metal on a 7 that you can clip such a strap to, your best bet is to clip the earth strap to your PC then ensure that you touch the metal clip that holds the DIMM in place before you touch the DIMM itself. This holds even if you aren't strapping yourself to true earth with an earth strap.
