Palm newbie looking to put cool stuff on my zire 31

I recently got a Zire 31 as a gift and am looking to put some interesting programs on it. I know I can buy expansion cards or buy software, but are there any good freeware sites for palms? I'm looking for mainly games and interesting applications. I've seen the pocket PC websites with those freeware games, is there any cross compatibility between plams and pocket PC's? Maybe a program I could run those games through or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There are companies that make software for both the PPC and Palm but the platforms are not compatible so you have to make sure you get the right version.

The most complete site for free Palm software is www.freewarepalm.com . They do have some annoying popups but, if you are using a popup blocker, they won't bother you.

Thank you. Now that i've downloaded a few games with most I cannot get any of my buttons to work in the game. I configured the controls to the "hard buttons" but none of my buttons seem to really work. If someone could give me a quick rundown on what each button is that would be great, thanks.

dungeon lore is good for a black and white palm too an adventure game works great on my color palm its ...not free...BUT YOULL THINK IT IS FOR ALL THE LONG LONG TIME YOULL GET OUT OF IT NOT PAYING its free to downoad and play to a point! which in most cases is very very long time!

or ones that arent freee......let you play WITHOUT PRESSSUING TO BUY...ones htat do presuure or that arte very very short(I DELTE) its so easy!

but youll get years of good play with never paying with dungeon lore and most games for the palm!

same thing with dragon bane and the color dragon bane 2

dragon bane.. one is so long.. for ..a pay game demo youll ...have years of fun ..i got to a gate and it said pay now ..i went to another GATE....got though ....not paying..there are many many ways to go in these type of games.....then was bonbarded by monsters,shops,weapons, aromor etc...fun fun...that was after over a year of play im still playing it NOT PAYING!

lots of yachtzee games some free some trial but no pressuring to buy

does your palm have a card slot at top
alot of good good games ar for sale at stores like staples for newer color palms like mine

i have the palm zire 71 with the built in digital camera in it
and i may add its great!

and so easy to use the easisest digital camera kjsut slides out of the bottem of your palm snap sync and thrye on your documents and palm to save send to friends or save to cd

If I were you, I would get rid of the 31, I also own a 71 and a 31 and the 31 is not high res so the graphics are kind of bad. Sell it immediatly, the zire 71 is only 200.00 which is 50.00 more, and like karen said it has a built in camera. It is so easy to use. This one will also play Mp3's amd EVERY game is compatible with this new zire71. If you want a gaming machine get the new zire 72 it costs more but it has more SDRAM and more space I have heard I am gonn abuy that one next
