I am not able to connect to my USB port / Serial posrt of the notebook.
"Device not recognised" error comes.
I have tried almost all that is mentioned at microsoft.com site.
Resetting, Checking COM1 ports & so on.
Can anybody guide as to what can be the possible cause of the problem

It's not a problem it is simply not possible! This is why it still comes with th Com to Honda connector. You can use the USB port e.g. for a mouse put not for PC communication.

You should test at first your serial connection.
Open a terminal program on your PC (e.g. Hyperterm), setup 115kbps, 8N1, connect your NetBook Pro and start the ActiveSync direct connection on your NetBook. You should receive the word "CLIENT" in your terminal program. If this doesn't come you should check the serial cable.
For the USB connection you need an optional craddle with an USB client connector.
