I've looked all over and only found leather cases. In most cases they are made for a different Clie, but happen to closely fit the SJ30. I'm looking for a hard case for this. I already have a JetPac which I can modify to hold the PDA, but if I could find a custom fit hard case I might be tempted to get that. If anyone runs across any post it here.

I have a JetPac that will work. There is a bit of customization that needs to be done to it. Currently it fits my Handspring Visor Deluxe, but the case had to be modified even then. Two strips of weather stripping are put on the either side of the interior to make up the width different of the old plams and the visor. Since the SJ30 is even narrower I'm going to use wider weather stripping and maybe a thinner piece on the back (interior) to hold the screen toward the front of the holder. It can be done and this is a pretty good holder.

It's just a suggestion if you're really looking for a hard case. This one stays clipped to your belt. I prefer this in that I can use the palm without a flopping case to be in the way. Right now it's the only thing I have seen that will even work.

Hope that helps those that wish to try. I only am using this until something better comes around, or something I think might be more functional.

just received an e-mail from a guy at "innopocket.com". He tells me they will be taking pre-orders for hard cases for the SJ-30 by 11-20-02 and that the case itself will be ready by end of month....sounds good huh?

My friend has a metal case made by these guys. He really like it. It's light-weight and has all the areas open like IR, jog, etc. It's pretty nice. I'll get one for the SJ30. Since this particular palm is smaller than the others I think it's a good in-pocket palm. Others I think are too large and uncomfortable to store in your pocket. Also belt worn cases pose as a problem of being exposed to other damages. I think this case will be worth getting. I'm glad to see someone it making it. I'll order it as soon as I see it listed.

It turns out my friend's Clie is a PEG-T615C, which is exactly the same contents of mine ( I think I saw it have had a 66mhz chip in it instead of a 33mhz, but don't know for sure) but I love that mine is a 1/2 shorter than his. It really makes a difference. I'm glad (for once) that Sony stepped on the scene to offer palms. I wasn't thrilled about having to buy their type of memory, but since it's a lot cheaper than it use to be I didn't mind getting one chip.

Look on eBay - 128 MB for $55 shipped! I'll be glad when it gets here because I've already filled the 16MB up. I tried to transfer a file to my friend's Clie and I didn't have enough memory to do that :p

This site has an awesome aluminum case for the SJ30 -- IMHO, problem solved!!! I ordered mine and it should be coming in early December.

Beauty, eh???

Cheers,

I like both the innopocket and isd-usa products for different reasons. The Innopocket I have already ordered, but the only reason I wouldn't like it is that it opens to the right making it harder to hold. The ISD-USA product flips up, which is great for holding. However, this puts the hindge on the top near the power button which is the only reason I don't like that one.

I guess I've got a month to decided before Innopocket ships. I think I'll stick with that one because I do like the added feature of being able to put a memory stick in the back of the case. I don't forsee me getting another one since I just bought a 128 MB stick for $55 on eBay, but it's always nice to have the option.
