Two problems cropped up this week, and they are occurring with annoying frequency:
1. I have the iQue in the cradle and hooked up to a Gilsson antenna. Anywhere from 6 to 8 satellites are locked on. I create a route, and when it's done calculating and I go to directions, the scroll bar at the right is all the way at the end: when I tap to get the bar to move up, the directions are there but without any times or distances. If I then save the route, and reactivate it, the directions will show starting at the beginning, with routes and times. The same problem also will occur if I add a via.

2. I create a route, check the directions and map, then go back to add or delete a via, and no via's are found. The route is still active. This one has happened less, but it has happened a couple of times - and I have even saved it and reactiviated, and the via's show up.

Anyone else experiencing these problems?

No, I can't say I have. The first thing you describe is what I see, if I have a route, and already have completed driving it to the destination. Each and every turn that I pass, get this look. The direction is there, but there is no ETA, since it's now in the past.

Vias are known to have their malfunctions, but they usually work, except that they can get deleted due to recalculations, and that passing a via isn't always recognized, or vice versa.

Anders, thanks for the reply. The response from Garmin was to upgrade to Mapsource 6.3, which I have already done, but I don't remember now if I did that BEFORE the problems the other day or after. Guess I'll have to wait and see if it happens again.

Upgrade to Mapsource 6.3??

Seems as intelligent an answer as if the doctor recommends going to the cinema if you've broken your leg.

What good should that do? You do mean that this problem occurs solely on the iQue, don't you? Which means Mapsource isn't involved.
Or did they mean that you should regenerate your mapset with Mapsource 6.3, and that such an action would get this problem to disappear

Anders, kind of what I thought at first, then I thought perhaps once I updated I should then replace the basemaps in the Que. That's all I can figure, since the instructions from Garmin were simply to update Mapsource, and said nothing about then replacing the basemaps on the Que. At this point, before I do that, I'm going to send them another message, just to check, and will let you know.

It's the pits, really, since I leave on a 3,000 mile trip on my Motorcycle Sat, and intend to use the route I set up (about a dozen times, what with altering my waypoints and then having to re-enter them twice a few times when they didn't show up....). Guess I'll carry a paper map, just in case!

Just to set terminology right:
The basemap is the rough map, that gives you an overview of the world, or a great deal of it. This map isn't loaded with Mapsource.
Detailed maps are just that, and you can't fit all of them into any existing SD card today. These maps are loaded via Mapsource or Mapinstall.
