Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Separating street # and street name

When I use the locate command from address view to find a person's address the street number and address both appear in the street number box. I have the number first and the # and name are separated by a single space, but I have tried multiple spaces and new lines to no avail.
Am I missing something? Also I am syncing from my mac address book through isync and missing sync software. Could this be causing problems?

I know how to cut and past the street name into the right place, but I would like to avoid this step if possible.

Thanks, Sam

If I understand you correctly.

When you see the address as you describe with the street and then the street name (usually in bold type), just re enter the street name into the street location and then do your search.

You can also use the swipe command through the virtual graffiti to copy and paste. It is a common occurrence and IMO, shouldn’t be that prevalent.

Thanks for the quick response. I gather that the street name must be entered manually. The name comes up next to the street # (usually in bold) and entered in the street name. This is fine, I wish it could all be entered automatically though.

This happens to me only if it can't locate the street name in question automatically. Like if I've misspelled the name, added a dot or maybe entered a number that's not in the database.

The street name must be EXACTLY the same as in the Garmin database. The iQue is not clever enough to anticipate to what you mean. 'Tony Blairstreet' nor 'Tony Blair Street' will not be recognized if in the Garmin database it is stored as 'T. Blairstreet'

The other problem I have found is that if the prefix (ie north/ south) or the suffix (ie road, street, etc and NW, SE) is not correct it will not find it. Garmin at times will list 86 and 86th in their database to distinguish between two different streets. If you tap the street field you can then find the street you are looking for from the list.
