Does anyone know how I can make repeating (non-periodic) appointments in the Palm Desktop datebook?

For instance, I might have the same appointment on August 3, 7, 15, 18, and 21st. And some of them might even be at different times.

I just do not want to have to make the same meeting over and over again.

In Lotus Notes, there is an option for Custom repeats (at least for the day).

Thkx.

I use copy and paste.

If the dates and the times occur at random and as the standard Palm Datebook does not allow linking to contacts then the only thing they would have in common is the body (text) of the appointment. With no sequence to the repetition the only thing that would save time would be as already suggested, Copy and Paste.

It appears that I can not copy and paste the actual appointment. That leaves me to copy and paste only the text, and repeatedly make new appointments.:(

Yup, that's pretty much it unless you want to create a repeating appointment and then go to the week view where you can drag and drop them where you want.

Is it actually correct to call them repeating then? it seems to me that what was mentioned above, the text, is exactly what they have in common, isn't it?

I know that it doesn't help for the Palm Desktop, but with DateBK5, there are more options for creating repeated events, that occurs on an irregular schedule.

Thanks Anders,

I will look into DateBK5.

At the begining of each semester, I have to enter approx. 100 events for the kids lessons/practices. These don't usually occur on a true repeating schedule.

DateBK5 definitely offers more options in this area BUT you still need some rhyme or reason in the sequencing to do what you want.

Thanks CC,

Seems a lot of users on this forum are using DateBK5. I will check it out.

I know I said this before but to be more detailed, I think this is going to be your best solution:

First create an Appointment on the Palm Desktop with all the verbiage (text) you want and set the alarm or not to how you want it. Set it to repeat every day for say 3 months out. Now switch to the Week view and simply drag each appointment to the day and time you want it. It will ask you if you want this change to affect all the appointments in this sequence or just this one. Select just this one and it becomes independent of the sequence. Repeat this for the other weeks and you will have all the appointments exactly where you want them with no additional typing.
