Forgive me if this is a dumb question. I received my CS6 upgate CD today.
I installed the software as per the instructions that came with the CD. Yes, I had to pay $75 for the unlock code.
After installing to MapSourse, I did a hotsync. This appears to have installed a new map (I believe it was GMAPSUPP.IMG).
My question is this. How can I tell if I have the updated (CS6) version on my iQue? How can I verify the update and tell if I have updated maps?

From the map screen, prefrences, detailed maps, highlight a map, it will give the product info at the bottom of the list.

________
On the Que go to the preferances page.
On the left select Maps.
On the right select Detailed Maps
When the names of the maps show up then look at the very bottom .
It should say "City Select v6.0.
You will need to make a new set of maps in mapsource using v6.0 and then hot sync it to the Que to change the maps in your Que.

Within Mapsource, there is a selection menu, where it displays which map you are viewing right now. You can only view one at a time. If you from that menu can select CS 6, then you have them installed on your PC. Just remember to pick the map tiles from the correct map product, when you compile your map set.
The same can be done with Mapinstall.

My maps are still showing ver 5, despite everything that I have done.
See my other thread "I screwed it up" for the details. I guess I will have to call Garmin unless someone here can figure out what I am doing wrong.

You have to go to Map Install in PalmDesktop and first delete the old selections. Then reselect from the new version and rehotsync.

Kind of a lousy way to do an update! How difficult would it have been for them to provide an update button from v5 to v6 maps?
For $75 I expected BETTER than this!

Well after uninstalling 5 and installing 6 and 6.3 upgrade I am really disappointed.
The route lines do not even track the streets, they cut across curves. Anyone else experiencing this or did I miss some setting?

You did install the maps with the routing information included, right? Mapsource allows omitting that, in case you are installing the routable maps to a non-routing receiver. Like I do with my CS 6 maps on my Vista GPS.
If you forget to include routing data, you'll get what you describe, since then routing is done on the basemap, which does cut corners, compared to the more detailed CS maps.

Anders, I must be missing something here.
I don't see any routing settings when installing the v6 maps in the map install of the desktop?
In Mapsource, under Preferences-Routing-Route Style I have "Use Auto Routing" selected if that is what your mean?
Other that that I guess I am lost!

What you see with Mapsource is what I meant. Mapinstall can't change this setting, since it's supposed to use autorouting. But Mapsource can be used with other units as well, units which doesn't support this feature.
Since you mentioned "6.3", I thought you may have used Mapsource, not Mapinstall, and perhaps forgot about this option.
