Guys,
attached screenshot shows an annoying ad that now seems to be a permanent part of the forum. Firefox contains a very good ad and image blocker. For some reason, this ad is not capable of being added to the filter list and I wonder if the forums are now using more aggressive ad 'spamming' procedures? I don't want to get involved in a debate whether ads should or should not be shown because they pay for the forum hosting fees, etc, etc. All I want to know is if others get a similar looking render and if you use Firefox, do you know if it is possible to remove this ad or others like it? I have downloaded the Adblock extension and I've been using it for a few months now very successfully. This particular ad popped up a few days ago and I can't seem to find any other way in the browser to trash it. Any ideas?

I'm using AdBlock on Firefox to block these sites...
http://dsp.dealtime.com/scripts/*
http://img.shopping.com/*
It seem to be able to block all ads in this site without any problem.

I never notice the ads here, I'm so used to them I block them with my own mind! :) They're not as obnoxious as some I've seen, hubby reads Tacoma Territory, and those ads (in old Netscape) would drive me bonkers! Mozilla seems to tone them down a bit, but still........

Don't tell that to the ad-making people...
When they see people are getting used to them and don't notice them, they make them even more annoying.

Alan, I upgraded to Firefox 0.9. You can undelete ads by clicking Tools -> Adblock -> Preferences and delete any of those assigned to pdaforums. That should reinstate the buttons you've wiped out though having uninstalled Adblock might have left the 'echo' of them in place. Since I upgraded to 0.9 from 0.8 I no longer get the ads I was barfing about. Firefox rocks!

For folks that don't wish to use an alternative browser, I also highly recommend shecking out the Proxomitron (http://proxomitron.cjb.net) for an excellent web filter. Development of the program has stopped, but it remains an excellent program and free and it's highly customizable.

I hate to say this, but I experienced a number of problems running Firefox 0.9.2. I had to uninstall and revert back to 0.8.

Did you try a complete uninstall(delete old user profile) before install 0.9.2? I've heard several people have the problem with it when try to use 0.8 profile with a new Firefox 0.9.2.

Thanks, Kasteo, that's worth trying. I installed 0.9.2 without uninstalling 0.8 first. I thought it would simply drop on top of it, but maybe that's not correct. I'll wipe 0.8, delete my profile, and then install 0.9.2 and try again.
*** STOP PRESS ***
Thanks, again Kasteo!
It now works perfectamundo!;)
