I installed "PenReader" (a handwriting recognition program for Pocket PC) on my Psion NetBook Pro, and it deactivated the keyboard. Even after removing the program, there is no functionality in the keyboard. Can you help me?
I thought a handwriting recognition feature could be useful, for making a quick note. But, after trying it for a few minutes I realized that my keyboard was locked out while the program was active. Only screen taps and drawings would cause the computer to react. I decided to remove it.
After the initial install a message that said my machine needed to be reset to complete the installation. I did that. After following the usual process for removing a program, I got a message that the machine needed to be reset to complete the removal. I did that, but my keyboard was still inactive. The screen behaves in the normal manner (responds to screen taps for program control), except it does not react to any sort of screen drawing (indicating that the Pen Reader program is erased).
So far I have tried the following to restore my system's keyboard:
1) Reset the computer numerous times, to perform a warm-boot
2) Removed all batteries & power source for 30 minutes, then replaced to allow a cold-boot
3) Warm-boot with an inserted CF card containing the latest Operating System (March 2004), (this requires holding down Ctrl-D-Esc keys to force uploading CF card files)
4) Cold-boot with an inserted CF card containing the latest Operating System, (this requires holding down Ctrl-D-Esc keys)
Obviously, the Pen Reader program has turned off my keyboard (removed or replaced the driver?), but I'm stumped as to how to reinstate it. The Pen Reader program won't let go.
The computer screen is still responsive, to taps for system control, but only the [Esc] key reacts (to turn the computer on).
HELP! Please.
