Multiple Contact Folders Sync Problem

I recently copied an Outlook Address (contacts) folder from a laptop to my pc. In doing so, I now have two Contacts folders on my pc as I cannot delete a standard folder. One entitled "contacts" (the old one that is now empty as I consolidated all data to one folder) and the second entitled "contacts*" which is the home to over 350 contacts. When I do a hot sync, all my Outlook data syncs well except for the contact list. None of my contacts* will sync to my Palm. I imagine there must be a property setting required to direct the Palm to the second "contacts*" folder with the asterisk. I've tried a number of things with no luck.
Anyone know the trick for this? Much thanks in advance.
