h5555 did a hard boot w/o warning
however, my backup file keeped on the SD card restored all without a hitch
i backup each morning before starting and each night before quiting
any ideas why it hard booted on its own
i was downloading e-mail on a wifi connection provided by a motel
using builtin program and playing windoes media player of my favorite music
happy backup worked

My unit hard booted twice. Figured it to be a static shock when removing the sync cable. I now ground myself before I touch it. I too backup my iPAQ daily. I do it only once a day.

I have two thick batteries - sometimes when i change the batteries the pda does not do a soft boot but a hard boot
i will do a backup before changing batteries
thanks again

the backup program on the pda restores without a hitch.
the backup program on the activesync restores with a list of files it can't restore!
i think that the files are ones that can't be overwritten
either in use or protected.
I also copy all files on my pda to my pc using total commander
as an added protection.
my primary computer has become my pda
using a sd card I work on the data on any machine with a usb port but all information then is on my pda when I put the sd card into my ipaq
i ran a system for GSA and one thing i realized early on is you can't be overprotective. ALL data must be backed up and
All files must be available on all computers you work on.
Lately, i notice that i can also backup some files to yahoo
just another protection!!!!
i have be doing hard resets just to check out all these problems
better now than when it happens on its own!!!
