I just did a CardBackup, seeing that I put the new Patch in last night. It appeared to me that the backup this time was much faster than it ever has been in the past, too! Could it be due to the fact that I just received a new iQue 3600 to replace my mildly defective unit that I shipped back to Olathe yesterday? Is it due to CS 6.0? Maybe it's because of the Patch? Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced a faster backup since changing any of these things??

CS6 would have no impact on the backup. The patch wouldn't either since it didn't modify the OS and actually added additional files which would increase the time for a backup. My guess is as noted in the quote.

If there's nothing new, installed or changed, since the last backup, it takes hardly any time at all to update an existing backup.

A fresh iQue doesn't have much data to save, so that may be the answer.

I'm using a different backup program but if you have it set to do a full backup it should take the same time but a differential backup will only save the changes which may be a lot or a little depending on the situation.

On a pessimistic but humorous note; perhaps your backup time has shortened because you accidentally wiped out many of your files. :D

Mais non, mes amis! All of my backups are FULL BACKUPS; my new iQue 3600 is restored with ALL progs that I had in the one I sent back and I even added and extra program or two to the mix! Perhaps the new unit is just faster--less wear and tear on the parts at this point in time (LOL!)!!

Do you have a Sandisk card? Could it be that they've found something that improves the interface with this kind of card?

All right, sir! That's the same impression (!) as I have from my two Toshiba cards.

I use a Kingston 512 Mb card. It's manufactured by Toshiba.
It shows the same: slow writing and fast reading.
But: I used this card before in my (former) Tungsten T3, and writing took at least 3 or 4 times longer than with the Ique.
