Hello!

Im just wondering what are some decent free wireless utilities to use on a pocket pc.

Im wanting things like programs that determine how far away you are from the access point.

Being able to view shared folders on other computers etc on that network.

Determine strength and speed of a particular network.

Basically any wireless programs that are either useful or fun to use.

Thanks all!

Have a look at WiFiFoFum and Herecast Scanner.

Are there any such free utilities that will work with PocketPC 2002 and the built-in WiFi of the H5450? Ministumbler doesn't appear to want to play ball with the H4540 wireless device and the two suggestions above only work on PocketPC 2003.

Then again, perhaps it's time I upgraded to PocketPC 2003.

PocketWarrior works with the built in wireless of the 54XX and 55XX. I have also used it with my 3765 and a Linksys WCF12 CF Wi-Fi card. It can not tell you distance from the WAP, but it can give you signal strength, SSID, WEP encrypted or not, etc. It can even plot GPS info if you have GPS hardware.
