I have a Jornada 728. I'd like to connect to the internet via my siemens GPRS-enabled mobile phone. I wrongfully assumed it would be as easy as connecting via IR to the mobile phone with the network connections/direct connection option in my Jornada. Obviously, I was wrong, since I cannot get the connection set up no matter how hard I try. My Jornada tries to connect to the phone, but it fails. On a side note, surfing the regular way via the modem in the phone works flawlessly, but I cannot get it to work with GPRS. Noone at HP can answer my questions either...
Does anyone here have any ideas what might be wrong? It IS possible to surf via the phone in this way, right?
Thanks!

Hi,
First, you obviously need GPRS option activated on our account and mobile phone configured.
Can you access WAP over GPRS on your mobile? If Yes, you need to configure dialup connection on Jornada.
I used help pages from Optus in Australia - have a look - it may help. I managed IPAQ over GPRS to work via bluetooth and J720 via IRDA.

Aha! Thanks! Why isn't this information more generally available? I got no information whatsoever from my gprs provider when registering for it...
Thanks again!
